ST. GEORGE, Utah-Thursday, Utah Tech University and Trailblazer athletics are mourning the loss of football student-athlete Brian Oney. He passed away at his parents’ home this past Sunday morning, July 3, in St. George.

Oney was a 6’7″ offensive lineman from Simi Valley, Calif. who retired from football before the 2020 season because of injuries.

Oney was a 2020 graduate of Chaminade College Preparatory High School of West Hills, Calif. He played high school football at Simi Valley High School (Calif.).

He was a two year starter at SVHS, earning first-team all-Mission League and second-team all-area honors for the Pioneers.
