Utah State Football Picked Eighth in Mountain West Conference Wednesday

LAS VEGAS, Wednesday, Utah State football was selected eighth in the Mountain West Conference during the conference’s annual media summit at the Circa Resort and Casino of Las Vegas.

Sophomore safety Ike Larsen was named to the all-Mountain West Conference preseason squad this season. The native of Smithfield, Utah and former Sky View High School star, posted four interceptions, two sacks and two passes defensed last season for the Aggies.

Boise State netted 28 first place votes as the Broncos were the selection to win the Mountain West as confirmed Wednesday.

The full predicted order of finish for the Mountain West is as follows:

  1. Boise State: 28 first place votes (433 points)
  2. Air Force: 2 first place votes (364 points)
  3. Fresno State: 5 first place votes (351 points)
  4. San Diego State: 1 first place vote (338 points)
  5. San José State: 293 points
  6. Wyoming: 281 points
  7. Colorado State: 201 points
  8. Utah State: 194 points
  9. UNLV: 1 first place vote (177 points)
  10.  Hawai’i: 102 points
  11. Nevada: 92 points
  12. New Mexico: 60 points
