IRVING, Texas-Thursday, the University of Utah men’s basketball program confirmed the Runnin’ Utes representatives at Big 12 Media Day will be head coach Craig Smith, senior forward Gabe Madsen and senior center Lawson Lovering.
Smith, who is 50-50 (.500) entering his fourth season at Utah, led the Runnin’ Utes to the NIT semifinals last March as Utah went 22-15 and 17-2 at The Huntsman Center.
Last season, Madsen averaged 13.6 points per game for the Runnin’ Utes and Lovering posted 6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for Utah in 2023-24.
Big 12 Media Day is Wednesday at the T-Mobile Arena of Kansas City, Mo.
The Runnin’ Utes season starts October 29 with an exhibition game against NCAA Division II CSU Pueblo at The Huntsman Center and the regular season starts November 4 against Alcorn State at The Huntsman Center.
