SALT LAKE CITY-As was confirmed late Tuesday afternoon, several University of Utah football players, fresh off an appearance in the Pac-12 championship game in 2018, made various preseason football teams.
Senior defensive end Bradlee Anae was named as a third-team Phil Steele All-American and a first-teamer on Steele’s All-Pac 12 squad as well as a first-team member on Athlon’s All-Pac-12 team.
Senior linebacker Francis Bernard was named to Steele’s second-team on the All-Pac-12 squad.
Senior defensive back Julian Blackmon was named as an Athlon All-Pac-12 second-team safety and a second-team defensive back on Steele’s All-Pac-12 squad.
Senior linebacker Manny Bowen was named to Steele’s All-Pac-12 squad as a third-teamer.
Junior receiver/return specialist Britain Covey was named to Athlon’s All-Pac-12 squad as a first-team punt returner and a second-team all-purpose specialist. Steele named him as a second-team all-Pac-12 receiver and a third-team returner.
Sophomore tight end Cole Fotheringham was named to Steele’s All-Pac-12 third team.
Senior defensive tackle Leki Fotu was named as a second-team All-American on Steele’s squad and Steele also named him as a first-team All-Pac-12 selection as did Athlon.
Junior defensive back Javelin Guidry was named as a third-team All-Pac-12 safety by Athlon and a third-team defensive back by Phil Steele.
Senior quarterback Tyler Huntley was named as a third-team all-Pac-12 selection by Athlon.
Junior defensive back Jaylon Johnson was named as a third-team All-American cornerback by Steele and a first-team Pac-12 cornerback by Athlon, while also making Steele’s first-team All-Pac-12 squad.
Senior running back Zack Moss was named to the Athlon all-Pac-12 first team and to Steele’s all-Pac-12 second team.
Senior offensive lineman Darrin Paulo was named to the Athlon all-Pac-12 squad’s second-team offensive line and to Steele’s all-Pac-12’s third team.
Senior defensive tackle John Pensini was named to the Athlon all-Pac-12 squad’s second team as well as to Steele’s all-Pac-12 second team.
