DALLAS-Tuesday, BYU junior tailback LJ Martin and Utah sophomore tailback Wayshawn Parker was named to the Doak Walker Award watch list.
This award is annually bestowed upon the most outstanding running back in college football.
Last season, Martin, a native of El Paso, Texas and a graduate of Canutillo High School of El Paso, ran for 718 yards and seven touchdowns while adding 98 more receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Last season at Washington State, Parker ran for 735 yards and four scores. He added 11 receptions for 108 yards and a score for the Cougars.
Martin and his BYU teammates start the season August 30 by hosting Portland State and Parker and his Utah teammates start their season August 30 at UCLA.
