USU Football’s Savon Scarver Named As 2nd Team Sporting News All-American

LOGAN, Utah-Wednesday, Utah State football junior receiver/kick returner Savon Scarver was named as a 2nd team All-American by the Sporting News.

The Las Vegas native was named as the Aggies’ third consensus All-American in school history last season, earning the honors from the Walter Camp Foundation, the Football Writers Association of America and by college football guru Phil Steele’s magazine.

He also received second-team All-American honors from the American Football Coaches Association after ranking second nationally with 33.7 yards per return.

Scarver presently has three career kickoff returns for scores for the Aggies.

Already this offseason, the decorated Scarver has received first-team All-American honors from Steele as a receiver and was named a second-team All-American by Athlon Sports and Steele as a kick returner.
