SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square confirmed they will commemorate 90 years of broadcasting Saturday July 18 during a special worldwide broadcast.
On July 15, 1929, The Tabernacle Choir conducted its first weekly broadcast during what is now known as Music & The Spoken Word.
This anniversary will be honored during the presentation “Music for a Summer Evening: Celebrating 90 Years of Broadcasting” July 18 at 7:00 pm.
This 90-minute broadcast will feature interviews and performances with guest artists who have previously appeared with the choir.
This performance will be aired on thetabernaclechoir.org, The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square’s YouTube channel, broadcasts.churchofjesuschrist.org. and Latter-day Saint Channel.
Fans can watch the encore broadcast Sunday July 19 at 5:00 pm on BYUtv, byutv.org and the BYUtv app.
