WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif.-Max Stassi homered and the Sacramento River Cats routed Salt Lake 7-1 Sunday to earn a series split against the Bees at Sutter Health Park.
Carson Whisenhunt posted five strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Sacramento.
The Bees’ sole run occurred when Scott Kingery reached base on a throwing error by Sacramento shortstop Brett Wisely and Sebastián Rivero scored.
Following Sunday’s results, the River Cats, who earned the series split, improved to 21-24 and the Bees fell to 18-26.
The Bees return to action Tuesday by hosting the Omaha Storm Chasers for a 6-game series. Opening pitch is at 6:35 pm at The Ballpark at America First Square.
