SUU Football’s Stromsdad/Dye, Earn Conference and National Honors Following Standout Performances

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Southern Utah junior linebacker Mason Stromsdad and redshirt sophomore tailback Joshua Dye were named as the United Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week and the STATS Perform National Offensive Player of the Week respectively for their contributions to the Thunderbirds’ 31-24 win over Abilene Christian last Saturday.

Stromsdad’s 11 tackles, forced fumble and an interception led the Thunderbirds in the win over the Wildcats.

Dye ran for 179 yards and 26 scores (6.9 yards per carry) in SUU’s win over Abilene Christian as well.

Stromsdad, Dye and their SUU teammates return to action Saturday by visiting Utah Tech as the Thunderbirds contend against the Trail Blazers in the Battle For the Axe at Greater Zion Stadium.
