SALT LAKE CITY-Pedro Leon, Shay Whitcomb and Jon Singleton each homered and the Sugar Land Space Cowboys pounded Salt Lake 21-6 Saturday at Smith’s Ballpark.

Brandon Bielak posted five strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Space Cowboys. Bielak is 1-1 on the season for Sugar Land.

Jack Lopez drove in two runs in defeat for the Bees.

With the win, Sugar Land improved to 33-41 while the Bees fell to 36-37.

The Bees can still secure a series victory if they prevail over the Space Cowboys Sunday. Opening pitch is slated for 1:05 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.

Pioneer League

OGDEN, Utah-Kole Kaler, Tyler Jorgensen and Ronnie Allen Jr. each homered and the Boise Hawks outgunned Ogden 13-10 at Lindquist Field Saturday.

Gavin Gorrell posted nine strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Hawks.

Reese Alexiades homered twice in the loss for the Raptors.

The series resumes Sunday at 2:00 pm at Lindquist Field.
