Pacific Coast League 

SUGAR LAND, Texas-Luis Castro recorded a sacrifice fly RBI in the 5th Inning and the Sugar Land Space Cowboys blanked Salt Lake Friday 2-0 in Pacific Coast League play at Constellation Field as play resumed after the Major League All-Star Game earlier this week. Jason Alexander earned the win on the mound for the Space Cowboys by posting nine strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work to secure the shutout for Sugar Land. Following Friday’s results, the Space Cowboys improved to 48-44 on the season while the Bees slumped to 36-57. The squads return to action Saturday at 6:05 pm at Constellation Field for the second game in the series.

Pioneer League

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Connor Bagnieski homered and the Ogden Raptors dismantled Idaho Falls 11-2 Friday at Melaleuca Field in Pioneer League play. Gabriel Vasquez homered in the loss for the Chukars. The Raptors, who are 8-4 on the season against the Chukars, pulled to within one game of Idaho Falls in the Pioneer League standings as Ogden improved to 28-23 and the Chukars fell to 29-22. The series is presently tied 2-2. The squads return to action for the fourth game in the series Saturday at 7:05 pm at Melaleuca Field.
