SALT LAKE CITY-Utah football junior cornerback Smith Snowden was named the Paul Hornung Award National Player of the Week Wednesday for his contributions to the Utes’ 43-10 win over UCLA.
Snowden played 22 snaps offensively, 22 snaps defensively and three snaps on special teams.
The former Skyridge High School star out of Lehi, Utah, recorded a team-high six receptions for 51 yards and netted a tackle at receiver and cornerback, respectively.
The Utes return to action Saturday in their home opener against Cal Poly at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
