WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif.-Daniel Johnson homered and the Sacramento River Cats bested Salt Lake 5-3 Tuesday at Sutter Health Park in Pacific Coast League play.
Carson Whisenhunt posted nine strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Sacramento.
J.D. Davis, Ryan Noda and Zach Humphreys drove in a run apiece in the loss for the Bees, their sixth straight defeat.
Following Tuesday’s results, the River Cats improved to 19-21 and the Bees slumped to 15-24.
The second game in this series is slated for Wednesday evening at 7:45 pm at Sutter Health Park.
