TACOMA, Wash.-Cade Marlowe homered and the Tacoma Rainiers blanked Salt Lake 5-0 Saturday at Cheney Stadium.

Kyle Hart posted five strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Rainiers. Hart improved to 1-1 on the season as he earned his first win of the season.

The Rainiers made it over .500 with Saturday’s win by improving to 40-39.

The Bees fell to 38-40.

Tacoma seeks the series win Sunday as the squads meet again at Cheney Stadium for a 2:35 pm MDT opening pitch.

Pioneer League

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Nick Ultsch and Rafael Narea each homered and the Ogden Raptors downed Idaho Falls 8-2 Saturday at Melaleuca Field.

Brock Gilliam posted seven strikeouts in 7.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Ogden. Gilliam is 6-1 on the season for the Raptors.

Michael Kohn drove in both runs in the loss for the Chukars.

Ogden improved to 22-11 on the season in victory while Idaho Falls fell to 12-22.

The Raptors and Chukars meet again Sunday at 7:05 pm at Melaleuca Field.
