CEDAR CITY, Utah-Tuesday, Southern Utah junior guard Cameron Oluyitan earned his second Big Sky Conference men’s basketball player of the week honor of the season as confirmed by the league.
In a 78-69 win over Pepperdine last Saturday in overtime, Oluyitan made a clutch jumper to force the extra session, giving the Thunderbirds the momentum they needed to down the Waves.
By virtue of Oluyitan’s bucket, the Thunderbirds have remained undefeated at home (4-0) and ensured the program will have back-to-back winning non-conference portions of the schedule the past two seasons.
This has never happened since the Thunderbirds moved to Division I.
SUU concludes its non-conference season Friday at USC against the Pac-12 Trojans.
