Neemias Queta To Return For His Sophomore Season At Utah State

LOGAN, Utah-Tuesday, Utah State men’s basketball center Neemias Queta confirmed via his Twitter account that he will return for his sophomore season at Logan.

Queta, a Portuguese national, had declared himself for the 2019 NBA Draft and was one of only 66 players in the nation to be extended an invitation to the NBA Draft combine.

Queta was named as the Mountain West Conference’s freshman and defensive player of the year after shattering the single-season blocks record for the Aggies in a highly successful campaign.

Queta netted 84 blocks and was 14th in Division I with 2.4 blocks per contest.

Queta was also the Aggies’ second-leading scorer, posting 11.8 points per game as well as 8.9 rebounds.

Queta’s 312 rebounds in 2018-19 were also a freshman record.

Queta is one of four returning starters for Utah State, including leading scorer Sam Merrill (20.9 points, 4.2 assists per game) and guards Brock Miller and Abel Porter.
