ERIE, Colo.-Monday, at Day 1 of the Simpson Colorado Invitational at the Colorado National Golf Club of Erie, Colo. the Colorado and Utah men’s golf squads are dominating early.

The Buffaloes have the overall team lead with 568 points (-8) while Utah is second with 571 points (-5). Utah Valley is in eighth place with 597 points (+21), Utah State is 10th with 604 points (+28) and Southern Utah is tied for 14th place with Cal State Northridge at 611 points (+35).

The overall individual leaders are Colorado’s Daniel O’Loughlin and Trevor Olkowski as well as Utah’s Kyler Dunkle as they are all shooting a 139 currently. Hayden Eckert and Chase Lansford of Utah State are tied for 27th by shooting a 148. Aaron Yeates of Utah Valley is tied for 31st by shooting 149. Finally, Southern Utah’s Ali Hameed is tied for 46th place by shooting a 151.

The tournament concludes Tuesday.

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho-Monday, the Brigham Young University women’s golf squad is tied for third place after Day 1 of the Coeur D’Alene Collegiate Tournament at the Coeur D’Alene Resort Golf Course.

The current team leader is Illinois with a score of 278 (-8) with the Cougars currently at a score of 291 (+11) for their position in third place. The Illini’s Crystal Wang is in first place at -4.

The Cougars are in the mix for the title because of Anna Kennedy’s magnificence as she is tied for third at -1. Additionally, Naomi Soifua is tied for 23rd at +3 and Rose Huang is tied for 39th at +6 for the Cougars. Additionally, Aliysha Mae Mateo and Annick Haczkiewicz are tied for 53rd place at +8.
