SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-J.D. Davis and Niko Kavadas each homered and the Salt Lake Bees outgunned Round Rock 12-11 Saturday evening at The Ballpark at America First Square in Pacific Coast League play. Carson Fulmer netted two strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bees. Blaine Crim homered in the loss for the Express. Following Saturday’s results, the Bees, winners of three straight, took the series lead against Round Rock and secured at least a series split, by improving to 26-35. Round Rock fell to 29-33. The Bees go for the series win Sunday at 12:05 pm in the series finale at The Ballpark at America First Square.
Pioneer League
GARDEN CITY, Idaho-Paul Myro IV, Max Jung-Goldberg, Jake Hjelle and Taylor Darden drove in a run apiece and the Boise Hawks doubled up Ogden 4-2 Saturday evening in Pioneer League play Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Graham Edwards netted eight strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Hawks. Elliot Good and Carmine Lane drove in a run apiece in the loss for the Raptors. Ogden can still secure the series win Sunday with a win at Memorial Stadium. Opening pitch is slated for 1:05 pm.
