SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Niko Kavadas homered and the Salt Lake Bees downed Sacramento 6-1 Wednesday in Pacific Coast League play Wednesday at The Ballpark at America First Square. Touki Toussaint netted five strikeouts in four innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bees. Drew Cavanaugh drove in a run in defeat for the River Cats. Salt Lake improved to 27-43 on the season as they snapped an 8-game losing streak. Sacramento stumbled to 34-37 in defeat. The squads return to action Thursday at 7:05 pm at The Ballpark at America First Square in the third game of the series.
Pioneer League
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Elliot Good homered and the Ogden Raptors bested Idaho Falls 9-6 Wednesday at Melaleuca Field in Pioneer League play. Cameron Edmonson recorded two strikeouts in one inning of work to earn the win on the mound for Ogden. Simon Baumgardt homered in defeat for the Chukars. The win improved the Raptors to 13-13 while the Chukars fell to 17-8. The squads return to play Thursday at 7:05 pm at Melaleuca Field for the third game in the series.
