Pacific Coast League

TACOMA, Wash.-Spencer Packard belted a grand slam and Harry Ford and Samad Taylor also homered as the Tacoma Rainiers routed Salt Lake 19-8 Wednesday at Cheney Stadium in Pacific Coast League play. Michael Mariot posted a strikeout in three innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Tacoma. Niko Kavadas and Yolmer Sánchez homered in the loss for the Bees. Following Wednesday’s results, the Rainiers improved to 23-30 and the Bees, losers of three straight, slumped to 23-29. The squads return to action Thursday at 8:05 pm MDT at Cheney Stadium for the third game in the series.

Pioneer League

OGDEN, Utah-Cuba Bess homered and the Yuba-Sutter High Wheelers stonewalled Ogden 11-6 Wednesday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play. Brandon McPherson netted nine strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Raptors. Cole Jordan homered in the loss for the Raptors.

Yuba-Sutter improved to 7-1 and Ogden fell to 3-5. The squads return to action Thursday at 6:35 pm at Lindquist Field for the third game in the series.
