RENO, Nev.-Trey Mancini and Jorge Barrosa homered and the Reno Aces downed Salt Lake 18-15 Tuesday at Greater Nevada Field in Pacific Coast League play. Bryce Jarvis recorded a strikeout in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Aces. Chad Wallach homered twice, including a grand slam in defeat for the Bees. Chad Stevens and Yolmer Sánchez also went yard in the loss for Salt Lake. The Aces improved to 38-38 while the Bees slumped to 29-46. The Bees and Aces have a quick turnaround for the second game in the series as opening pitch is slated for Wednesday at 1:05 pm MDT at Greater Nevada Field.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Kyler Stancato homered and the Ogden Raptors smoked Northern Colorado 10-2 Tuesday to open this six-game series at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play. Eli Elliott netted five strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Raptors. Christian Hall and Kai Moody drove in a run apiece in the loss for the Owlz. The Raptors and Owlz return to action Wednesday at 6:30 pm in the second game of the series at Lindquist Field.
