SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Luis Matos homered and the Sacramento River Cats downed Salt Lake 9-3 Saturday in Pacific Coast League play at The Ballpark at America First Square. Carson Ragsdale netted five strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Sacramento. Matthew Lugo and Niko Kavadas homered in the loss for the Bees. The River Cats improved to 36-38 while the Bees fell to 28-45. The Bees seek a series split as they host the River Cats one last time this week Sunday at 12:05 pm at The Ballpark at America First Square. Meanwhile, Sacramento goes for the series win.
Pioneer League
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Spencer Rich, Trevor Rogers, Tyler Wyatt and Gabriel Vasquez homered and the Idaho Falls Chukars overpowered Ogden 27-13 at Melaleuca Field Saturday in Pioneer League play. Dante Zamudio netted three strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Chukars. True Fontenot and Denver Blinn homered in defeat for the Raptors. Idaho Falls improved to 19-9 on the season while Ogden fell to 14-15. Ogden goes for the series win Sunday at 2:00 pm at Melaleuca Field while Idaho Falls seeks the split.
