SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Denzer Guzman and Chad Wallach homered and the Salt Lake Bees edged El Paso 8-7 in Pacific Coast League play Friday at The Ballpark at America First Square. Jared Southard posted four strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bees. Marcos Castañon homered in defeat for the Chihuahuas. Following Friday’s results, the Bees improved to 59-76 and the Chihuahuas fell to 72-63. The squads return to action Saturday at 7:05 pm at The Ballpark at America First Square for the fifth game in the series. The series is presently tied 2-2.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Dylan Wilkinson drove in three runs and the Ogden Raptors overpowered Boise 15-11 Friday in Pioneer League play at Lindquist Field. Nik Cardinal posted a strikeout in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Ogden. Ethan Underwood and Jake Hjelle homered in the loss for the Hawks. Following Friday’s results, the Raptors, who clinched a playoff berth in victory, improved to 52-41 and the Hawks fell to 46-47. The squads returned to action Saturday at 6:30 pm at Lindquist Field for the fifth game in the series. Ogden also clinched the series win with Friday’s victory.
