ROUND ROCK, Texas-Trevor Hauver homered and the Round Rock Express edged Salt Lake 3-2 Saturday at Dell Diamond in Pacific Coast League play. Michael Plassmeyer posted seven strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Express. Cavan Biggio and Tucker Flint each drove in a run in the loss for the Bees. Following Saturday’s results, the Express improved to 64-63 and the Bees fell to 56-74. The Bees seek the series win Sunday in the series finale. Opening pitch is slated for 12:05 pm at Dell Diamond.
Pioneer League
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho-Anthony Mata and Kirkland Banks each drove in two runs and the Idaho Falls Chukars routed Ogden 11-3 Saturday at Melaleuca Field in Pioneer League play. Nathan Hemmerling’s seven strikeouts in seven innings of work earned the win on the mound for Idaho Falls. Bradley Pelle drove in two runs in the loss for the Raptors. Following Saturday’s results, the Chukars improved to 50-38 and the Raptors fell to 48-40. The squads return to action Sunday at 2:00 pm for the series finale at Melaleuca Field.
