SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Christian Moore homered and the Salt Lake Bees secured at least a series split with El Paso by defeating the Chihuahuas 6-5 Saturday at The Ballpark at America First Square in Pacific Coast League play. Victor González pitched one inning of work to secure the win on the mound for Salt Lake. Marcos Castañon homered in the loss for El Paso. Following Saturday’s results, the Bees improved to 60-76 and the Chihuahuas fell to 72-64. The Bees go for the series win Sunday. Opening pitch is slated for 12:05 pm at The Ballpark at America First Square.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Max Jung-Goldberg, Taylor Darden and Cameron Dayton homered and the Boise Hawks stonewalled Ogden 17-7 Saturday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play. Jacob Bradley’s three strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work earned the win on the mound for the Hawks. Carmine Lane homered in defeat for the Raptors. Following Saturday’s results, the Hawks improved to 47-48 and the Raptors fell to 52-42. The series, and the regular season, conclude Sunday at 1:00 pm at Lindqust Field.
