SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Junior Perez and Coby Halter homered and the Las Vegas Aviators edged Salt Lake 3-2 Saturday at The Ballpark at America First Square in Pacific Coast League play. Mason Barnett posted nine strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Las Vegas. Brandon Drury and Chad Wallach drove in a run apiece in defeat for the Bees. Following Saturday’s results, the Aviators improved to 65-48 while the Bees fell to 46-66. Salt Lake goes for the series win Sunday while Las Vegas seeks to secure the split. Opening pitch is slated for 12:05 pm.
Pioneer League
OGDEN, Utah-Sebastian Greico homered and the Ogden Raptors overpowered Colorado Springs 18-13 at Lindquist Field Saturday in Pioneer League play. Chase Chatman’s seven strikeouts in five innings of work earned the win on the mound for the Raptors. Brett Robert homered in the loss for the Sky Sox. Following Saturday’s results, the Raptors improved to 39-30-1 while the Sky Sox slumped to 17-52-1. The squads return to action Sunday at 1:30 pm to conclude the series at Lindquist Field.
