SUGAR LAND, Texas-Matthew Lugo homered and the Salt Lake Bees edged Sugar Land 4-3 Wednesday at Constellation Field in Pacific Coast League play. José Fermin recorded a strikeout in one inning of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bees. Zack Short homered in defeat for the Space Cowboys. Following Wednesday’s results, the Bees improved to 48-67 while the Space Cowboys fell to 54-59. The squads return to action Thursday at 6:05 pm at Constellation Field.
Pioneer League
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Christopher Sargent Jr., Carmine Lane, Elliott Good and Carson Tucker homered and the Ogden Raptors bested Grand Junction 10-6 Wednesday at Suplizio Field in Pioneer League play. Jose Moreno’s four strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work earned the win on the mound for Ogden. Evan Scavotto, Mason Minzey and Isaac Nunez homered in the loss for the Jackalopes. Following Wednesday’s results, the Raptors improved to 42-31 and the Jackalopes fell to 31-43. The squads return to action Thursday at 6:35 pm at Suplizio Field for the third game in the series.
