CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Tuesday, BYU senior linebacker Jack Kelly was named to the Bronko Nagurski Award Watch List. This award is annually bestowed upon the nation’s top defensive player by the Football Writers Association of America and the Charlotte Touchdown Club.
Last season, Kelly posted five sacks, an interception, two forced fumbles and a defensed pass for the Cougars.
The former Kearns High School star out of Kearns, Utah, who also starred at Weber State to start his college career, is one of 60 standout defenders from throughout the country to be named to this watch list but the only one representing a Utah school this season.
Kelly and his BYU teammates start the season August 30 by hosting Portland State.
