RMAC Men’s Basketball

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Julien Ducree posted 14 points on 7 of 12 shooting as the Dixie State Trailblazers downed Western Colorado 74-52 Friday at Burns Arena in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men’s basketball action.

The Trailblazers shot 33 of 63 (52.4 percent) for the game in improving to 12-8 and 10-6 in RMAC play. Dixie State has won seven consecutive games.

Brady Subart had 14 points and 5 assists in the loss for the Mountaineers, as they fell to 3-19 and 0-16 in RMAC play.

Dixie State seeks to ensue in its hot streak by hosting the Colorado Mesa Mavericks Saturday evening.

Non-Conference Baseball

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Dixie State baseball split their two games Friday at Bruce Hurst Field, falling 6-5 to Northwest Nazarene and prevailing 10-6 over Cal State Los Angeles.

Greg Casper took the win on the mound for the Nighthawks as they got their first win of the season and Northwest Nazarene managed to excel despite surrendering 11 hits to the Trailblazers.

In the second game of the day, Dixie State got back on the winning track as catcher Cade Spurlin came up with 3 RBI to help the Trailblazers gash the Golden Eagles.

The Trailblazers are currently 5-2 as they seek to sweep Cal State Los Angeles in their game Saturday at 3:00 pm
