OKLAHOMA CITY-Ryan Fitzgerald homered and the Oklahoma City Comets surged past Salt Lake 6-5 Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Cole Irvin netted two strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Oklahoma City.

Yolmer Sánchez drove in two runs in the loss for the Bees. 

Oklahoma City improved to 19-17 on the season as the Bees slumped to 15-21.

The Comets can secure at least a series split with a win over the Bees Friday.

Opening pitch is slated for 5:35 pm at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
