NASHVILLE, Tenn.-Per a Friday announcement, Brigham Young University men’s basketball coach Dave Rose was presented with an $100,000 check for the Simmons Center for Cancer Research on the BYU campus.
This check was presented to Rose by Phil O’Connor, the director of Marketing Communications and Media at INFINITI Americas at INFINITI’s North American headquarters.
In addition to the $100,000 given to the Simmons Center, INFINITI donated $349,000 to multiple charities individually selected by participating NCAA Division I men’s basketball coaches through the INFINITI Coaches’ challenge.
Rose earned the check during a process from early January to mid-March wherein fans voted for him as he advanced through four rounds, winning a competition that began with 48 Division I men’s basketball coaches vying for the check.
In the last round of competition, Rose bested three other coaches to gain the $100,000 for the Simmons Center.
