PROVO, Utah-Wednesday, BYU men’s basketball Kevin Young announced the signing of Sierra Vista (Nev.) high school star center Xavion Staton.
The 7-footer out of Las Vegas who is entering his junior season for the Mountain Lions, averaged 13.8 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocks per game last season in leading his squad to the Nevada Class 4A state title.
Staton is the highest-ranked prospect in Nevada and the highest-ranked prospect to sign with BYU in program history.
