PROVO, Utah-Alex Barcello posted 20 points and 7 rebounds on 7-12 from the field and 5-6 behind the arc as the BYU Cougars bested Utah Valley 82-60 Saturday evening at the Marriott Center.
The Cougars (3-0) played their third game in four nights and shot 52.6 (30-57) percent from the field for the evening.
Trey Woodbury posted 24 points and 5 rebounds on 10-17 from the field and Jamison Overton added 21 points and 8 boards for the Wolverines, who fell to 1-1 on the season.
The Cougars next face USC Tuesday at 12:30 pm MST at the Roman Legends Classic of Uncasville, Conn.
BYU would next draw Vanderbilt or Connecticut Thursday at this event.
UVU returns to action Tuesday as they host NCAA Division II Westminster of Salt Lake City.
