BYU Football Coaching Staff Adjustments Announced Monday

PROVO, Utah-Monday, BYU head football coach Kalani Sitake announced the promotion of Justin Ena to special teams coordinator and Chad Kauha’aha’a as outside linebackers coach. Additionally, Sitake announced the hiring of new cornerbacks coach Lewis Walker from North Dakota State.

Ena is a 19-year coaching veteran and coached the Cougars’ linebackers last season.

Kauha’aha’a has been at BYU since 2024 and Walker has 11 seasons of coaching experience as a secondary coach or defensive coordinator.

Ena previously starred at BYU from 1997-2001 and has coaching experience at all Division I football programs in Utah (BYU, Southern Utah, Utah, Utah State, Utah Tech and Weber State) and has also had coaching stints at Eastern Washington and San Diego State.

Kauha’aha’a starred at Utah and has been a position coach for the Utes as well as at USC, UCLA, Wisconsin, Oregon State, Boise State, UNLV, Utah State and Weber State.

Walker is a native of Salt Lake City and starred at Judge Memorial Catholic High School of Salt Lake City as well as at the University of Hawai’i and Utah.

Walker started his coaching career as a positional coach at Copper Hills High School of West Jordan and has coached at the NCAA FCS level at Monmouth and most recently, North Dakota State.
