SALT LAKE CITY-Zach Humphreys, David Fletcher, Michael Stefanic and Jack Lopez each drove in a run and the Salt Lake Bees edged El Paso 4-3 Friday at Smith’s Ballpark. Jimmy Herget recorded two strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Salt Lake. Herget is 1-1 on the season.

Oscar Mercado homered in the loss for the Chihuahuas, who fell to 46-60. The Bees, winners of three straight, improved to 50-55 on the season.

Salt Lake can achieve a series win with a Saturday win in the series. The Bees and Chihuahuas will again meet at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.

Pioneer League

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Nick Ultsch and Juan Teixeira each homered and the Ogden Raptors outlasted Grand Junction 10-8 Friday at Suplizio Field. Joe Johnson homered in defeat for the Jackalopes. Ogden and Grand Junction return to action Saturday at 6:35 pm at Suplizio Field.
