Bees Win Series; Get Back to .500 Sunday

SALT LAKE CITY-Trey Cabbage homered and the Salt Lake Bees bested Sugar Land 11-5 Sunday at Smith’s Ballpark to conclude the first half of the Pacific Coast League season.

Kenny Rosenberg posted eight strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bees. Rosenberg is 5-4 on the season.

Jon Singleton, Korey Lee, Pedro Leon and Marty Costes each drove in a run for the Space Cowboys in the loss.

Salt Lake concludes the first half of the season with a series win against the Space Cowboys and a 37-37 overall record.

Sugar Land fell to 33-42 on the season in defeat.

After two days off, the Bees return to action Wednesday by visiting the Tacoma Rainiers at 7:05 pm MDT.

Pioneer League

OGDEN, Utah-Reese Alexiades, Juan Teixeira and Dakota Conners each homered and the Ogden Raptors routed Boise 19-8 Sunday at Lindquist Field in Pioneer League play.

Mitchell Stone posted four strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Ogden.

Stone is 2-4 on the season for the Raptors.

Casey Dykstra, Anthony Walters and Alex Baeza all homered in the loss for the Hawks.

This win gave the Raptors the Pioneer League South’s Division lead over Boise. Ogden is presently 17-11 while the Hawks are 17-12.

The Hawks and Bees return to action Monday at 6:30 pm at Lindquist Field. This is the only game in Pioneer League play Monday.
