Bees Split With Aviators Thursday

SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, the Salt Lake Bees split with the Las Vegas Aviators at Smith’s Ballpark, winning the first game 5-4 and dropping the nightcap 11-1.

In the first game, Livan Soto posted an RBI single in the bottom of the 8th Inning to lift the Bees to victory.

Jhonathan Diaz posted three strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bees. Diaz improved to 7-0 on the season.

Ramon Laureano, Kyle McCann and Max Schuemann all homered in the loss for the Aviators.

In the second game, Tyler Wade, Lawrence Butler and Yohel Pozo all homered to lead Las Vegas to the victory.

Billy Sullivan posted a strikeout in two innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Aviators. Sullivan is 3-2 on the season for Las Vegas.

David Fletcher drove in a run for the Bees in the loss.

Las Vegas and Salt Lake both have 45-47 records following Thursday’s results.

The Aviators and Bees return to action Friday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.

MISSOULA, Mont.-Keaton Greenwalt and Cameron Thompson each homered and the Missoula PaddleHeads routed Ogden 13-3 Thursday at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field. Dawson Day posted five strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the PaddleHeads. Logan Williams, Dane Tofteland and Landen Barns each drove in a run for the Raptors in the loss. The Raptors and PaddleHeads meet again Friday at 7:05 pm at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field.
