SALT LAKE CITY-Daniel Murphy drove in a pair of runs and the Salt Lake Bees downed Sugar Land 5-2 Friday at Smith’s Ballpark.

Jhonathan Diaz posted five strikeouts in four innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Salt Lake. Diaz is 5-0 on the season.

Shay Whitcomb homered in the loss for the Space Cowboys.

The Bees improved to 36-36 in victory while the Space Cowboys fell to 32-41.

Salt Lake can achieve a series win and get above .500 Saturday with a victory over the Space Cowboys.

Salt Lake and Sugar Land return to action Saturday at 6:35 pm at Smith’s Ballpark.
