11 Utah Football Standouts Make Preseason All-Pac-12 Teams; Utes Overwhelmingly Picked To Win South Division

LOS ANGELES-Wednesday, as Pac-12 media day commenced, 11 University of Utah football standouts were named to various preseason all-Pac-12 squads, the most in the conference.

Making the all-Pac-12 first team were senior tailback Zack Moss, senior defensive end Bradlee Anae, senior defensive tackle Leki Fotu, senior defensive back Julian Blackmon and junior defensive back Jaylon Johnson.

On the second team, the Utes placed senior offensive lineman Darrin Paulo, senior defensive tackle John Penisini and junior receiver Britain Covey.

Three Utes also obtained honorable mention status, sophomore tight end Cole Fotheringham, junior defensive back Javelin Guidry and freshman punter Ben Lennon.

The Utes were also voted to win the conference’s south division unanimously by Pac-12 media.

Utah received an overwhelming 33 first-place votes, compared to USC’s 2. Rounding out the division is Arizona State and UCLA tied for third place, Arizona in fifth place and Colorado in sixth place.

In the north division, Oregon has been projected to place first, with 17 first-place votes. The Ducks had 190 overall votes, edging Washington, with 189 overall votes. The Huskies also netted 17 first-place votes from the media. Stanford is third, Washington State is fourth, California is fifth and Oregon State is projected to finish sixth.
