Wednesday, May 29, the Wasatch County School Board is hosting a public meeting at Wasatch High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m. to provide information, answer questions and to seek input from the community on the $150 million bond proposal. The proposal is to fund a second high school and replace the existing Midway Elementary School. The proposed site for the new high school is located west of Heber and North of Midway Lane. Property has been put under contract pending approval of the bond in November. The proposal for a new Midway Elementary includes a land swap with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and would move the elementary school across the street, on Miche Lane to a 12 acre parcel. The church has agreed to the land swap if the bond is successful.
A final bond proposal will not happen until mid-August. School Board Members emphasized at a parents association meeting last week that they are interested in listening to all ideas and questions about the $150 million bond proposal and encourage the community to attend the open house or email bond@wasatch.edu if you aren’t able to attend the meeting.
