WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada-Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Manitoba are celebrating an important milestone in the long-awaited construction of the Winnipeg, Manitoba Temple.
July 28, construction workers placed a golden statue of the Angel Moroni on the steeple.
This temple, which will conduct an open house October 22-31, 2020 and be dedicated November 8, 2020, is the first in Manitoba.
This temple, upon its dedication, will serve members of the Church in Manitoba.
Presently, there is one stake in Manitoba, consisting of 14 congregations, 7 family history centers and one mission, the Canada Winnipeg Mission.
Missionary work by the Salt Lake City-based faith has been conducted in Manitoba since 1897. The Winnipeg Manitoba Stake was established in 1978.
