SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, statistics were updated for covid-19 in the Beehive State by the state department of health.
Since statistics began being kept, there have been 39,194 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is a net increase of 339 cases in the past 24 hours and a net decrease of 107 in the same span.
There have been 518,191 recorded tests for covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 3,682 in the past 24 hours.
This increased the overall positive test percentage to 7.56 percent. Tuesday, this figure checked in at 7.55 percent.
The 24-hour positive test percentage decreased to 8.77 percent. Tuesday, this number was at 9.589 percent.
There have been 26,643 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah since statistics began being kept. This sets a state record for recoveries in a 24-hour period, with 738. This is a net increase of 154 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
The current recovery percentage in Utah is 67.7 percent.
There are currently 12,260 active cases, a net decrease of 405 in the past 24 hours. This dropped the current active case percentage in Utah to 31.28 percent.
There are presently 14,383 more recovered cases than active cases in the Beehive State. This represents a net increase of 1,143 in the past 24 hours.
There have been 2,324 recorded hospitalizations in Utah since statistics began being kept for covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is a net increase of 29 in the past 24 hours.
Current hospitalizations decreased by three in the past 24 hours, to 208. This drops the current covid-19 hospitalization percentage to 8.91 percent.
The ICU covid-19 hospitalization percentage dropped to 42.3 percent Wednesday from Tuesday’s 42.65 percent as there are two less ICU hospitalizations for covid-19 in the past 24 hours, dropping the number to 88.
ICU is presently 69.1 percent full.
There have been 292 deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah with six new such deaths reported Wednesday.
This raises the death percentage to 0.745 percent. Tuesday, this was at 0.736 percent.
Wasatch County saw three new cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 522 cases since statistics began being kept. The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County remain unchanged in the past 24 hours.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
