SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, covid-19 statistics were updated by the Utah State Department of Health.
There are currently 59,747 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. Of those, 49,728 are recovered, or 83.23 percent.
This recovery rate has dropped from Tuesday’s 83.6 percent. However, the new recoveries in the past 24 hours (400) are exceeding the new active cases (327). This has occurred each of the past two days in Utah. 16.03 percent of covid-19 cases in Utah are currently active.
There are presently 40,146 more recoveries than active cases in Utah. This represents a net increase of 50 in the past 24 hours.
Of the 3,381 recorded hospitalizations, 115 of those are currently hospitalized or 3.4 percent. Of the 115, 54 are currently in ICU, or 46.9 percent. ICU in Utah is presently 68.2 percent occupied.
There was one new death attributed to covid-19 in Utah in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 437. This decreased the death percentage to 0.731 percent. Tuesday, this was at 0.738 percent.
Wasatch County currently has 681 covid-19 cases that have been recorded all-time. This is a net increase of 7 in the past 24 hours.
The hospitalizations (31) and deaths (7) attributed to covid-19 remain unchanged in the past 24 hours in Wasatch County.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred August 28.
