Utah Rep. Trevor Lee Facing Old Check Fraud Allegations

(Layton, UT) — State Representative Trevor Lee is addressing allegations that he committed check fraud when he was in his 20s. The Republican released a statement saying he “made a grave error”. His former boss at a pest control company said the error involved cashing checks for more than their face value. That happened in North Carolina over a decade ago. His former employer, Jason Walton, said Lee eventually admitted to the fraud but urged him not to call police. Walton and his business partner agreed and allowed Lee to replay the money. Walton said he started an anti-Lee website when he found out his former worker was in political office. The website has documents that Lee singed admitting to the fraud.
