(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah lawmakers passed a transportation bill yesterday after making adjustments to address Salt Lake City’s concerns. The Utah Senate voted 20-2 and the House voted 61-9 after a conference committee meeting. The bill includes a “highway reduction strategy” for road safety projects, now limited to major roads. It prevents permanent lane reductions during the study but allows temporary disruptions. The bill now heads to Governor Spencer Cox’s desk for final approval.
