UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST, Utah-Per information released by the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest pertaining to the Heber-Kamas District, Christmas tree permits have been sold out at certain locations.
Silver Eagle in Heber City has their Christmas tree permits sold out as of early Tuesday afternoon.
These permits are still available at the forest’s Heber Ranger District (2460 S. U.S. Highway 40, Heber City) and Kamas Ranger District (50 E. Center, Kamas) offices. The hours at each office are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
You may also purchase them, while they last, at the Mirror Lake Service Chevron at 2 N. Main, Kamas.
Permits are $15 per person and only one permit per person is allowed.
Species of trees that may be cut include subalpine fir, white fir and lodgepole pine.
Those trees that are 20 feet or shorter may be cut and removed and may be cut until December 25.
Prior to the transportation of the trees, they must be tagged.
