U Of U Is Making Diversity Policy Changes In Response To State Law

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The University of Utah is making changes to its equity, diversity and inclusion policies as required by a new state law. HB-261 will go into effect on July 1st. U of U will move Mary Ann Villarreal who is vice president for equity, diversity and inclusion to a position as special adviser to President Taylor Randall. The school’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Division will be disbanded on July 1st. Division employees and some people who work in the health division’s diversity office could be reassigned to other offices with new job titles.
