SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, the updated statistics for covid-19 in Utah were released by the state department of health.
Since statistics have been kept for covid-19 in the Beehive State, there have been 38,855 recorded cases. This is an increase of 446 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 10 cases in the same span.
There have been 514,509 recorded tests for covid-19 in Utah since records began being kept. This is a net increase of 4,651 tests in the past 24 hours.
This increased the overall positive test percentage to 7.55 percent Tuesday. Monday, this figure was at 7.53 percent. The 24-hour positive test percentage dropped to 9.589 percent Tuesday. Monday, this was at 9.67 percent.
There are currently, per Tuesday’s report, 25,905 recovered cases of covid-19 in the Beehive State. This is an increase of 584 recoveries in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 61 in the same span.
Presently, 66.67 percent of all covid-19 cases in Utah are recovered.
There are currently 12,665 active cases of covid-19 in Utah. This represents a net decrease of 143 active cases in the past 24 hours. The current active case percentage in Utah is 32.59 percent.
There have been 2,295 hospitalizations in Utah for covid-19 since records began being kept. This represents a net increase of 42 in the past 24 hours. The current hospitalizations in the past 24 hours rose by four to 211. This caused a slight increase in the current covid-19 hospitalization percentage, raising it to 9.19 percent. Monday, this was at 9.18 percent.
The current covid-19 hospitalizations in ICU increased by seven in the past 24 hours, raising the total to 90. This brings the covid-19 ICU hospitalization percentage to 42.65 percent. Monday, this was at 40.09 percent. As of Tuesday’s report, 63.6 percent of ICU is full.
There were five new deaths reported in Utah from covid-19, increasing the total to 286. This increased the death rate percentage from covid-19 in the Beehive State to 0.736. Monday, this was at 0.731 percent.
In Wasatch County, there were four new recorded cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, increasing the net total of cases to 519. Per Wasatch County Health Education and Media Relations Coordinator Trudy Brereton, 424 of these cases are recovered, or 81.6 percent. This is the fourth consecutive week that Wasatch County’s recovery percentage has exceeded 80 percent.
The hospitalizations (20) and deaths (4) remain unchanged in the past 24 hours in Wasatch County.
The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred July 6.
