Tuesday Report On Upper Provo Fire

UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE NATIONAL FOREST, Utah-Tuesday, our friends at Utah Wildfire gave the daily report on the Upper Provo Fire.

This is burning on the Heber-Kamas District of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest near the eastern banks of Mirror Lake.

It has been confirmed that this blaze was human-caused. However, the specifics of its impetus are still under investigation.

It has presently burned 336 acres and is 18 percent contained.

Presently, Murdock Basin Road (Forest Service Road No. 137) and Broadhead Meadows (Forest Service Road No. 416) are closed. The area around Murdock Basin and Broadhead Meadows remains closed as well.

Monday, the fire became active again around 3:00 pm because of dry, windy hot conditions.

Aviation resources also assisted firefighters in combating the blaze. The fire is presently moving northeast. It is anticipated crews will continue with line construction around the edges of the fire, mopping up hot spots.

With temperatures in the high 80’s and low 90’s expected in the region Tuesday and no precipitation being forecast, conditions are expected to be comparable to how they were Monday.
