Tuesday Report for covid-19 In Utah

SALT LAKE CITY-Tuesday, the Utah State Department of Health updated the latest covid-19 statistics for the Beehive State.

Since statistics have been kept, there have been 49,767 recorded cases of covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of 403 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 154 in the same span.

There have been 630,599 Utahns tested for covid-19. This is an increase of 4,245 in the past 24 hours.

The positive test percentage increased to 7.89 percent Tuesday. This is a slight increase from Monday’s 7.88 percent.

The 24-hour positive test percentage slumped to 9.49 percent. This occurred despite 2,717 more Utahns being tested from Monday-Tuesday.

There are 41,529 recoveries from covid-19 in Utah per Tuesday’s report. This is an increase of 365 in the past 24 hours and a net increase of 32 in the same span.

The recovery percentage increased by 0.06 percent Tuesday to 83.44 percent. Monday’s figure was at 83.38 percent.

The gap between all-time cases in Utah and recoveries increased by 38 Tuesday to 8,238.

The active cases increased by 32 in the past 24 hours to 7,842 active cases. However, the active case percentage dropped to 15.75 percent because there were 365 recoveries in the past 24 hours as opposed to 32 new active cases.

There are 33,687 more recoveries than active cases in Utah per Tuesday’s report. This differential increased by 333 in the past 24 hours.

There have been 2,969 recorded hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah since statistics began being kept.

This is an increase of 28 in the past 24 hours.

Current hospitalizations for covid-19 in Utah decreased by six in the past 24 hours. This drops the covid-19 current hospitalization percentage to 4.17 percent. Monday, this was at 4.42 percent.

The ICU covid-19 current hospitalizations had a more significant drop, falling by 10 in the past 24 hours to 47.

This dropped the ICU current covid-19 hospitalization percentage to 37.9 percent. Presently, 65.5 percent of ICU in Utah is occupied.

There have been 397 recorded deaths attributed to covid-19 in Utah. This is an increase of seven in the past 24 hours. The death percentage has increased to 0.797 percent in Utah. Monday, this was at 0.790 percent.

Wasatch County saw six new recorded cases of covid-19 in the past 24 hours, raising the net total to 621.

The hospitalizations (25) and deaths (5) remained unchanged in the past 24 hours in Wasatch County.

The most recent death attributed to covid-19 in Wasatch County occurred August 24.

Wasatch County Health Department Education/Media Relations Coordinator Trudy Brereton confirmed that as of Tuesday, 534 of the 621 recorded cases of covid-19 in the county are recovered, or 85.99 percent.
